Benzene

Benzene is prepared in the laboratory as well as in the chemical   industry . Benzene is a starting material for many other aromatic hydrocarbons. Industrial production of Benzene Benzene is firstly discovered in1825 by Michael Faraday who isolate it from oily condensate that was deposited in a compressed gas that was used at that time for the purpose of illumination. This gas was produced by the hydrolysis of whale oil. Benzene and some other simple aromatic compounds are the main starting materials for nearly all aromatic compounds. Benzene is prepared in a laboratory or in an industry. Benzene in addition to as a starting material for other hydrocarbons, it is used as a solvent. There was therefore high demand for benzene and other simple aromatic compounds. Their demand is mainly met by two natural sources namely Coal and petroleum. There are the following methods for the production of benzene on industrial scales : 1. Fractional distillation of coal tar (coal tar is ob...

Platics the organic product

Plastics are Organic synthetic materials. Chemistry of Plastics The  polymerization process. This way the monomers are joined together in a sequence to grow in a specific way. The monomer word plastic is derived from the Greek word meanings ''to grow''. Hence it is synthesized by there are joined together in straight chain or branched chain. It decides the nature of plastic that it would be thermosetting or thermoplastics. The raw materials are of organic in nature i.e natural gas, oils,or plants. By refining the raw materials ethene or propene gas are obtained that are basics raw materials and when the cracking of ethene and propene are obtained this ethylene or propylene is basically, used as monomers in the polymerization of plastic but the derivatives of ethylene or propylene are also used. These derivatives are PVC, nylon, styrene, polyamide, poly-acetate etc. Types of plastics 1. Thermoplastics:                    ...

Synthetic Polymers industrial product

Synthetic polymers in our daily life list of synthetic polymers examples of synthetic polymers and uses synthetic polymers in medicine Polymers in our daily life The word polymers are derived from the Greek poly means 'many' mer means 'part'. So the polymers are the compounds having long chains of repeating units of specific molecules. These are also called macromolecules. Polymers have different natures depending upon the types of atoms of different elements i.e., Inorganic Polymers (Giant molecules) e.g diamond, graphite, sand)  Organic  Polymers    Biopolymers                Lipids, proteins, carbohydrates, nucleic acid etc. Synthetic Polymers             Plastic, synthetic fibers,             Rubbers etc. synthetic polymers in industries Polyethylene/Polythene           Polyethylene is formed by the radical polymerization of et...

Gasoline producing Chemical industries

Gasoline is gas/petrol, the chemistry of gasoline, the use of gasoline in engines  what is gasoline/petrol Gasoline is a refined fuel obtained from petroleum/crude oil. Gasoline is also known as petrol. Gasoline is used in internal combustion engines. Gasoline is a transparently flammable liquid so it is used as a primary fuel in most spark-ignited combustion engines as automobiles. Also used as a solvent for fats and oils. Gasoline consists of mostly organic compounds obtained by fractional distillation of petroleum/crude oil. Petroleum refineries/industries apply various processes to get high-performing gasoline as Crude oil distillation Catalytic reforming Fluid catalytic reforming FFC Thermal cracking Hydrocracking Alkylation Isomerization and catalytic polymerization Firstly gasoline was produced by distillation. This was the simple process of separating volatile fractions of petroleum on the basis of boiling point. Thermal cracking was designed to raise the yield of gas...

Petroleum Industry and products

Hi! there, I am going to write about the Petroleum industry  and the product  organic  chemical industries.         Petroleum industries and petroleum products Petroleum is mineral oil when it is in refined form. Petroleum is also known as rock oil. Petroleum is a mixture of several gaseous, liquid, and solid hydrocarbons having water, salts, and earth particles with them. Petroleum is lighter than water. Petroleum is insoluble in water. It is thought that petroleum has formed by the slow chemical and biochemical process of organic matter found between the sedimentary rocks. When petroleum is extracted from rocks it appears like a blackish color known as crude oil. It is refined to get petroleum fractions. Today many oil refineries are in operation to get the petroleum fractions. These chemical industries refined millions of tones of mineral oil to full fill the demand for petroleum fractions. The crude petroleum fractions are separated by fract...

Compost the organic product

Compost is an important Organic product of Organic Chemical Industries . Compost can be prepared in industries and also in homes. Compost prepared in chemical industries is known as industrial compost.  Here we will also discuss the  industrial manufacturing of compost .                                                                                         What is Compost: Compost is made up of the decomposition of organic materials like leaves, shredded twigs, kitchen waste materials, dead animals, etc. It is known as black gold for farmers. It is also used in gardens. By adding compost plant growth and health increase. Compost is a very important organic product of chemical industries used to synthesize organic food. Compost plays a key role to synth...

Organic chemical industries

Hi, I am here to write about the organic industries and organic products synthesized by organic industries                                  Organic industries  Organic industries are those chemical industries that use chemicals/raw materials extracted from natural resources directly and they do not need further synthetic chemicals made in the laboratories. For example, in the synthesis of alcohol fermentation of carbohydrates is carried out which is the basic chemical. And the carbohydrates are synthesized by plants. This way carbohydrates are taken from plants. Similarly, gasoline is extracted from petroleum that is naturally found in nature as a product of the chemical reaction shown by plants, fossils of animals, etc. buried inside the earth's crust thousands of years ago. So the organic industries extracted the petroleum products without any chemical synthesis and obtain the desired organic...
